Laundry Soap

Okay, I have now been using my homemade laundry soap for over a week.  It gets my clothes clean just fine.  I have noticed that I have not been itching as much.  I love the cost - about $2.00 for 10 gallons of laundry soap!  My next frugal attempt is to stop using dryer sheets.  Instead use half a sponge dipped in 1 part liquid fabric softner and 2 parts water.  Wring out and throw in dryer.  It is suppose to work as well as dryer sheets, plus the sponge is reuseable - save the planet!  Besides I HATE taking out the trash :)

Laundry Soap

I have decided I want to try something new each month in 2011.  My first attempt is making my own liquid laundry soap.  This is something I have been wanting to try for over a year now.  It took my niece, Desiree, to beat me to it to motivate me.  It was so easy.  I haven't washed any clothes with it yet, but Desiree says that it has helped to eliminate some of their problems associated with detergent and eczema.  Since I currently have two foster daughters with eczema, I am anxious to try it.

Not sure what my February attempt will be yet.  Perhaps a new receipe.  Any thoughts out there?
